This region ranges from very urban to quite suburban, beginning just east of downtown Reno and ending in the eastern foothills of the Truckee Meadows. “In Town” locations tend to be somewhat dense with good access to bus transportation, lending themselves to investor-owned properties. Just past the airport you’ll find the neighborhood of Donner Springs, mostly consisting of moderately priced homes built in the 70’s and 80’s. Here the convenience is good and the pride of ownership ranges from fair – good. A little farther to the east lie the often overlooked neighborhoods of Rosewood Lakes and Hidden Valley. Here you’ll frequently find homes offering amenities such as city views, well maintained yards, and golf course frontage for a comparatively reasonable price. Local tip: This is the lowest point in the city of Reno. While offering views of open water and lots of wildlife certain, distinct areas within SE Reno can be flood prone. Check the flood maps and talk to locals for more info.
